The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced his 2021 Budget. This plan provides all of us with the certainty we all need as the Coronavirus restrictions are relaxed. There are eleven key provisions of the Budget that I think are hugely beneficial for businesses and my constituents alike, these are:
Newark and Sherwood eligible for Levelling Up and Community Renewal Funds, providing a vital cash boost for local infrastructure and projects;
Furlough Extended until September, providing peace of mind to employees of closed businesses;
Self Employed Grants Extended and more people are now eligible for the Grants;
Restart Grants, to make sure our businesses can reopen safely, once they are allowed;
5% VAT Tariff Extended for Hospitality Businesses, helping them get back onto their feet- when they can reopen;
Stamp Duty Holiday Extended;
Government Backed 5% Deposit Schemes for Mortgages, helping more people get onto the Housing Ladder;
Universal Credit £20 Boost Extended, helping the most vulnerable at a time when they need it most;
Freezes to Fuel Duty, keeping the cost of living low;
Freezes to Alcohol Duty, helping our pubs and restaurants to reopen;
East Midlands Freeport Approved, bringing more jobs and investment to our region.
