Local residents are advised to take advantage of a free flu jab this winter

Flu Vaccines this Winter

People at a high risk of flu are also most at risk from covid-19. So, as part of our fight against the coronavirus, we're launching the largest flu vaccination campaign in England, and increasing those who are eligible to receive it.

I'm pleased to say that 30 million people will now be eligible to receive a free flu jab this year, including everyone aged 50 and over, all school year groups up to year 7, people on the Shielded Patients List, as well as those aged over 65.

Those who are eligible for a free flu jab will receive a direct reminder, alerting them to the fact and prompting them to book their appointment.
