Today the Government has announced that over £20m of funding will be coming to Ollerton!
The funding will see Ollerton High Street revitalised with a new Hub Building containing local services, new business units and office workspaces. There will be an improved pedestrian access and a cinema to transform the town.
I worked with the then Conservative run Newark and Sherwood District Council to put together the bid. Although the bid just missed out in the last round of funding, I have kept kept pushing for the bid to be reconsidered and so I am delighted at the news this work has paid off.
This is something we have been working on for some time. I am delighted Ollerton is finally going to get the investment it deserves.
It’s an exciting opportunity to improve an already popular high street and support our wonderful businesses. I will work with the new administration of Newark and Sherwood District Council together with the Forest Centre, County Council and Town Council to deliver this exciting change for Ollerton.
