Robin Hood Line - letter to East Midlands Railway

In some non-coronavirus related news, you might be aware that a few weeks ago I had a zoom meeting with East Midlands Rail and Abellio to push forward on my campaign to re-open the Robin Hood Line (train line connecting Ollerton and Edwinstowe up to the rest of our network).

To give some background, as a result of my campaign to try and get the line extended the Department for Transport made it a requirement that a formal business case has to be put forward to re-open the line. As such, the Strategic Outline Business Case is being prepared as we speak, and will be submitted to the Department for Transport later this summer. Myself and two other local MPs whose constituencies would be affected by the line re-opening have decided to write to EMR to express some of the main positives about this plan. Some good steps forward on this.

I've attached a copy of the letter that myself, Mark Fletcher MP (Bolsover) and Ben Bradley MP (Mansfield) have signed and sent off today to the Managing Director of East Midlands Railway.

Re-open the Robin Hood Line

Since becoming a Member of Parliament, I have lobbied Ministers and local Authorities to support my plan to reopen the Robin Hood Line and extend it from Ollerton to Shirebrook. This move would provide great investment and support jobs in the area.
