Myself and Tom Randall MP met with residents of Woodborough, Councillors Boyd Elliott and Helen Greensmith and representatives of Nottinghamshire County Council, Severn Trent, The Environment Agency and Gedling Borough Council, to discuss the flooding issues affecting many properties in the village.
It is clear that everyone wants to work together to sort the issue, and there are many measures that can help, but no solution we can do straight away.
That being said, we are determined to work together on solutions for flood alleviation and better maintenance of gulley's for example to be able to protects homes and businesses.
My thanks go to everyone who attended, and all the flood wardens, Woodborough Flood Action Group and volunteers out there whose help is invaluable. I will keep working with everyone on this important issue (as well as in other areas across Sherwood) so we can protect the community.
