MP thanks notts police

Mark Spencer, Member of Parliament for Sherwood has sent his thanks to Nottinghamshire Police for cracking down on dangerous criminals through the use of proactive knife crime teams.

Over the past 12 months local forces have made over 400 arrests, seized £440,000 of illegal drugs, and taken 179 dangerous and illegal weapons off of the streets.

Speaking about the Herculean efforts from the local proactive knife crime units, Mr Spencer said:

"Keeping our streets safe is a priority for this Government, this Home Secretary and our local Police and Crime Commissioner.

It is really good to see our local Police working around the clock to deliver on this priority and ensuring that our streets from Calverton to Hucknall, from Blidworth to Ollerton are kept safe.

I know that the Home Secretary, Priti Patel and our Police and Crime Commissioner are working closely together to ensure that Nottinghamshire Police have the resources that they need to continue to take dangerous criminals off of our streets.

Thank you to everyone at Nottinghamshire Police for all of their hard work over the past 12 months.

- Rt. Hon. Mark Spencer MP
  Member of Parliament for Sherwood

Campaigning for a Safer Sherwood

During the 2019 General Election, I was elected on a promise of recruiting 20,000 new police officers nationally. It is only right that Sherwood and Nottinghamshire gets their fair share. I will lobby my Ministerial colleagues to ensure that we see more police on the beat, back home.
