Campaigning for a Safer Sherwood

During the 2019 General Election, I was elected on a promise of recruiting 20,000 new police officers nationally. It is only right that Sherwood and Nottinghamshire gets their fair share. I will lobby my Ministerial colleagues to ensure that we see more police on the beat, back home.

Speeding in Calverton

Recently, I have been contacted with concerns about speeding in Calverton. Today I wrote to the local Inspector, Chris Pearson - asking him to look into the issue.

It is vital that we keep our roads safe, both for other road users, but also for pedestrians and children.

Mark Spencer has welcomed the announcement that Nottinghamshire has been bolstered by an additional 132 officers since the Government launched the major police recruitment drive over a year ago.

100 more Police for Nottinghamshire

Last year, the Prime Minister pledged to recruit 20,000 more Police Officers.

In the year since this pledge, nearly 6,000 extra Police Officers have been recruited across England and Wales.

For us here in Nottinghamshire, that means we have 100 more Police Officers.
