Campaigning for a Safer Sherwood

During the 2019 General Election, I was elected on a promise of recruiting 20,000 new police officers nationally. It is only right that Sherwood and Nottinghamshire gets their fair share. I will lobby my Ministerial colleagues to ensure that we see more police on the beat, back home.

Local Police tackling Knife Crime

Mark Spencer, Member of Parliament for Sherwood has sent his thanks to Nottinghamshire Police for cracking down on dangerous criminals through the use of proactive knife crime teams.

Speeding in Calverton

Recently, I have been contacted with concerns about speeding in Calverton. Today I wrote to the local Inspector, Chris Pearson - asking him to look into the issue.

It is vital that we keep our roads safe, both for other road users, but also for pedestrians and children.

Nottinghamshire bolstered by 203 New Officers

Mark Spencer MP has welcomed the announcement that 203 police officers have been recruited in Nottinghamshire in the first year of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s campaign to recruit 20,000 by March 2023, as part of the 8,771 additional officers that have been recruited across England and Wales.

Mark Spencer welcomes 132 new Police Officers

Mark Spencer has welcomed the announcement that Nottinghamshire has been bolstered by an additional 132 officers since the Government launched the major police recruitment drive over a year ago.

 

100 more Police for Nottinghamshire

Last year, the Prime Minister pledged to recruit 20,000 more Police Officers.

In the year since this pledge, nearly 6,000 extra Police Officers have been recruited across England and Wales.

For us here in Nottinghamshire, that means we have 100 more Police Officers.
