Our green and natural environment is part of what makes Sherwood so special. From the Major Oak to Bestwood Country Park- Sherwood is built on its green foundations.
I have become concerned by an increasingly slap dash attitude towards development on the green belt, and on undeveloped land in general.
For far too long some of our local authorities have pushed the blame onto the Government, when they are the ones with the power to protect our green and open spaces.
When it comes to development, Sherwood is divided between the local authority that chooses to protect its green spaces, to those who choose not to. Let me be clear, in Sherwood, two of our local authorities are not doing everything in their power to protect our green spaces.
