As part of the Government's strategy against the coronavirus, we are launching a 'mass testing' pilot scheme, where we are aiming to test an entire city for the coronavirus.

New Restrictions Announced for England

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement over the weekend, we are implementing new restrictions across England.

Following consultation with Local Stakeholders, the Government have decided that the whole of Nottinghamshire will move into Tier 3, at 00.01 on 30th October.

Today, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt. Hon. Rishi Sunak MP, announces changes to the Government's already generous support scheme for those businesses and individuals affected by the Coronavirus. 

The Government has implemented a three-tier covid alert level across England for the coronavirus. The 3 tiers of Local Covid Alert Level are Medium, High, and Very High. What coronavirus restrictions are in place in an area depends on what tier it is in.

Today, the Prime Minister announced that the COVID restrictions that were due to be lifted tomorrow will now be lifted on 15th August at the earliest.

This means that:

• Casinos, bowling alleys, skating rinks and remaining close contact services must remain closed.

Earlier today, the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak announced a host of new Government measures that will support and revitalise the British economy.

As we gradually move towards an easing of coronavirus restrictions, I've had a number of constituents ask when certain industries and sectors will be able to re-open.

Last week the Government announced that more than 70 million face masks will be manufactured in the UK and delivered to frontline health and care workers, securing vital PPE for frontline workers and creating hundreds of domestic jobs.
