A little while back I went along to Bilsthorpe to meet with local Councillor, Rhona Holloway, to hear about some of the fantastic plans for the Maid Marian play park.

Covid restrictions in Sherwood - Mark Spencer writes to constituents

Today, the Prime Minister announced that the COVID restrictions that were due to be lifted tomorrow will now be lifted on 15th August at the earliest.

This means that:

• Casinos, bowling alleys, skating rinks and remaining close contact services must remain closed.

Sherwood wins Parliament Week award

I'm very pleased to say that Sherwood has won an award recently for the amount of 'Parliamentary themed' activities that took place during Parliament Week last year.

Mark Spencer visits the Major Oak

After hearing about the damage done to the Major Oak yesterday, I decided to go along and have a look for myself today. Great to be able to chat to Gemma from the RSPB at the Major Oak itself to hear about what's happened, and what steps they're taking to keep this national treasure safe.

I've had a response from East Midlands Railway this morning about my on-going campaign to extend the Robin Hood Line.

Calverton Recycling Centre - Update

I've been out in Calverton this morning with local village activist Jane Walker, local Cllr Boyd Elliott and Cllr Phil Rostance (Vice chair of communities and Place) from Nottinghamshire County Council to discuss some issues we've been having with the recycling centre in the village.

Hucknall - Byron cinema will be open this weekend

Out in Hucknall recently with local councillor Cllr Phil Rostance and we went along to the old Byron cinema building. Very excited to say that it will be ready to open this weekend on the 4th July.
