Ending Free Movement

Yesterday Parliament voted on the Immigration Bill. This bill officially ends free movement, and introduces a points-based system of immigration to the United Kingdom.

Out and about today in the constituency for a few different appointments and came across this colourful character on Hucknall High Street.

Really fun to see, definitely brightened up the day and caused some smiles this morning.

Update on Leisure provision in Hucknall

Some mixed news today from Ashfield District Council. They have decided that they will not be renewing their contract to keep the Edgewood Leisure Centre open. Instead, they will be handing the building back to Nottinghamshire County Council.

Good news from the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday that Zoos will be able to re-open in England from the 15th June, provided they can implement some COVID-secure procedures.

Great news this morning from Kwasi Kwarteng, the Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth.
